This particular layout is best for homes that are small in size. As the name suggests, this type of kitchen layout only reserves one wall space. It is best suited for couples and people who live alone. The good part of choosing this layout is that all the materials and appliances are within your reach and the time taken to clean the space is less as not much ground is covered. It is also referred to as the Pullman Kitchen.
2. Galley kitchen:
This kitchen has two separate counters that are placed parallel to each other. The good news is that you can marinate your food at one counter while cooking it at the other. This obviously saves a lot of time. Again, this kitchen layout is best suited if you have a small space. As the kitchen provides two countertops, this offers flexibility to ensure that two people can work at the same time. Speaking of the dimensions, these kitchens are longer in length. However, they are not wide enough, but the availability of two counters suffices for that.
3.L-shaped :
One of the most commonly used kitchen layouts. This type of kitchen layout is best suited for people who dream to have a lavish kitchen. The L-shaped kitchen offers you to have two countertops on two adjoining walls that are perpendicular, forming an L. The length of the “legs” can be kept according to your choice but it should be preferably less than 12 to 15 feet. The advantage of choosing this type of kitchen layout is that it offers plenty of space to cook, place appliances and other stuff. Also, if you plan to have an open kitchen you can always opt for an L-shaped kitchen.
4.U-shaped :
This type of kitchen layout offers you three walls for working. The kitchen would be covering three walls and hence it offers ample amount of storage. If you have a big family, a U-shaped kitchen is for you. Many people can cook at the same time as there are three counters available without creating any sort of congestion. Choosing this also gives you the liberty to place your microwave in the base wall cabinet. The primary merit that this particular layout offers is that there is plenty of space. You can place your refrigerator, cooker and sink separately. The distance between the counters is short. Multiple people can operate at the same time and you can keep your kitchen well organized.
